The Linthicum Family - Summary of History

Thomas Linthicum, Jr. was born about 1675 and approximately
twenty-years later immigrated to what was then the British
Colonies. He married Deborah Wayman and settled in (what is
now) Arundel County (Annapolis area) of Maryland where he
became a major land developer.

Records indicate that Thomas arrived in the Colonies from
Wales; however, whether or not he was citizen of that country
has never been verified.

Thomas founded the town of Linthicum Heights which, today is
called the City of Linthicum, having a 2007 populations of 7, 539;.

Herbert Otis Linthicum (Ruth’s grandfather) was born in Baltimore,
Maryland 1873. He married Mary C. Carson of Washington, D.C.
and moved to Camden, N. J.
.
Herbert’s son Alton Maynard (born 1904) married Justine
Braun (1903). The couple, who lived in Camden for many
years, is the parents of Ruth Justine (1929) and Kenneth
B. (1931).
